In our Cougar Date review we dive into CougarDate.com to find out if this cougar dating site is legit or a scam. Using the standards we outline in our Best Cougar Dating Site Review we use our expertise to help you make the best decision possible.
After investigating and reviewing dozens of cougar dating sites like this we have become very good at spotting the scams. These fake sites are becoming increasingly sophisticated and hard to spot. It has become easier to create masses of fake profiles, automate fake messages, and create the appearance of a legitimate sight.
As you will see in our review below, this site will not be among our Best Cougar Dating Sites. We will go into detail now on exactly why CougarDate.com is best avoided.
Cougar Date Review
Is CougarDate.com A Scam?
Cougar Date Warning sign #1 - This site has not been updated since 2013
When you come upon the CougarDate.com homepage you will see an attractive older woman trying her best to look seductive. Just below her you will see the Cougar Date copyright. As you can plainly see this site has not been updated since 2013.
Any legitimate site will pay close attention to their homepage. If there is such a glaring error as not updating their copyright it is very unlikely that the rest of the site has been updated in the last few years as well. The best cougar dating sites around are constantly updating their site.
They should want their site to be the easiest to use and the most likely to attract beautiful women to the site. If CougarDate.com isn't doing that they are unlikely to have many women on their site.
You can actually find a "cougar date" on AFF and Cougar Life
It's probably no secret by now that Cougardate.com isn't a site you want to spend time on. It's old and the odds of actually meeting a woman are near zero. Instead, there are a few sites that we have had great success with you should try:
Guys that are really only looking to meet cougars for sex are going to have the most success using AFF. In the world of hookup sites, AFF and Tinder are the two that stand apart. Tinder is great if you want to date women under 30 while AFF is the best option for meeting women above 30.
If a relationship is what you are after, Cougar Life is where you should go. This is the largest and most well-known cougar dating site and as a result, has by far the most cougars. All the women know the deal and are interested in younger guys as well as guys their own age. Try Cougar Life's free trial if that sounds like what you want.
You can see what we mean in this comparison:
Site | Our Experience | Our Rating | Free Trial Link |
---|---|---|---|
Best For Casual Fun | Experience Highlights
| 9 | Try AFF For Free |
Decent For Younger Guys | Cougar Life Highlights
| 8 | Try Cougar Life |
2nd Best For Hookups | Experience Highlights
| 9 | Try Passion |
Cougar Date Warning sign #2 - This site is just a skin for another site
When you read through the terms of service listed above you see that it is an agreement between three parties. In this case, we have you the user, the site operator of CougarDate.com, and White Label. White Label is very likely a company that provides the actual dating profiles on the site. Therefore Cougar Date isn't even really providing the service they claim.
It is very common for multiple sites that look completely different to have the same user base. In this case, there will be multiple sites like CougarDate.com that try to attract paying members with a different skin that you see. Meanwhile, they are basically selling access to the same user base of women (or just a bunch of fake profiles).
These white label sites are almost always extremely sketchy and usually fakes. It is very difficult to run a successful dating site and those sites are very unlikely to allow other sites access to their members.
Cougar Date Warning sign #3 - Fake messages
A mere moments after registering I was receiving messages from "women". My profile was completely blank. I had no pictures. I had not messaged anyone. Yet somehow surprisingly attractive women were messaging me.
This type of behavior is a surefire sign that you are dealing with a scam site!
Fake sites have become very sophisticated in their use of automated messages and fake accounts "bots". Every new member to Cougar Date will receive a few emails from fake profiles of attractive women. This is solely to entice new members to CougarDate.com to pay for a membership so they can message back these "women". Once the new member has paid for their membership they will message these "women" back and 99.9% of the time will receive nothing but fake messages back.
Cougar Date Warning sign #4 - They have less then 2000 members!
When you search for members on the site you have the ability to "search anywhere". Basically this will allow you to search the entire customer base of CougarDate.com. After opting to "search anywhere" for women between 35 and 50 a total of 1,791 members came up in the search. This could mean that either Cougar Date restricts which members you can search. More likely however is that there are less than 2,000 women on this entire site!
With less than 2,000 women on the entire site it is a pretty easy decision to leave this site. When you have the best sites from our Top Cougar Dating Site Review coming in with MILLIONS of members you don't want to mess with the small players.
Cougar Date Review Conclusion
Undoubtably you have reached the same conclusion that we have. Cougar Date simply does not measure up to the high standards we hold cougar dating sites to. There are far too many warning signs that point to this site likely being a scam or fake. There is no point looking any further at this site when there are legitimate sites available (you can find them on our Top Cougar Dating Site Review) with much larger numbers of attractive older women.
