After a thorough investigation of the site, we have expanded on our findings below.

Free Cougar Contacts Warning Sign #1 - Tons of ads for other dating sites

If you look at the picture to the left of the Free Cougar Contacts site you can barely see anything but ads. This site is a huge collection of ads for other dating sites. At least 75% of the available screen space it taken up by various ads for other dating sites.

Any dating site the spends all of its time advertising for other sites is almost certainly a scam. This is usually enough to turn around but we will move forward.

The only legit sites we found are Cougar Life and AFF

As we review dozens and dozens of sites for our cougar dating apps review every year it has become pretty obvious that there is only one site specifically for meeting cougars that is worth anyone's time (if you want a relationship), Cougar Life. If you have one site to use to meet for real relationships, it's this one.

Of all the cougar sites out there they have the most members (7 million+), they are the easiest to use, and they will give you the best chance to actually find that single cougar you're looking for.

On the flip side, if you are just looking for something casual, AFF is going to beat out Cougar Life when looking for women 35+. You can still find a lot of women on Cougar Life who are looking to get laid but AFF is 100% focused on connecting people for that.

With over 50,000,000 members, they have by far the most cougars and every woman on the site is looking to meet a guy for a fling. The only other similar app the delivers anything close is Tinder and there just aren't many women over 30 that us it.

Warning Sign #2 - All the new members are men

When investigating FreeCougarContacts.com we found that you have the ability to see who the most recent subscribers are. Naturally, we thought this would be a great way to see who is currently using the site. It turns out we were right.

From our cursory investigation, it appears that only men are registering for this site. The "new members" section is basically dozens and dozens of men all looking for cougars to date. Sadly it doesn't appear that any of the women they seek are actually on this site.

Warning Sign #3 - The female profiles are fake

After some searching, we were able to find some actual female profiles on the site. Unfortunately, the profiles of the attractive women, if not all the women, are clearly fake.

There are a bunch of profiles that have attractive women on them on FreeCougarContacts.com but they are very obvious fakes. You have beautiful models who are claiming to be cougars but list their age as 17, the hair color as "a little grey", and that they are looking for cubs. It seems that the creator of this site just randomly filled a bunch of profiles with pictures of models and random profile information.

Warning Sign #4 - No members

If the fake profiles were not bad enough there simply are not enough profiles on this site. Searching across the whole site for women there are only a total of 649 profiles.

If the research we did into those profiles we did look at is any indication almost all of these profiles are also fake. Simply put there are no women on this site.

Warning sign #5 - Very low web traffic

To get a better idea of who is actually using the site we dug a bit deeper into the actual web traffic. Using a few tools that we have at our disposal we were able to see extremely low numbers of people searching Google for this site.

We found that on average less than a thousand people are going to the site every month through Google. This is extremely low! Most legitimate sites will have tens if not hundreds of thousands of people finding their site using Google every month. How else will they get new members???

Dating websites depend heavily on constantly attracting new members to the site. If they don't they will quickly disappear. With an almost complete lack of new members coming in it isn't hard to believe that this site is pretty dead.

Warning sign #6 - Outdated celebrity photos

If you look on the homepage the first thing you are going to see is that they have a picture of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. If you follow celebrity gossip at all you will know that this photo is several years old and they have not been together for a long time.

Then, if you look around the site a little more you will quickly realize that very little else has been updated since that photo was taken. Not exactly what you want to see in a dating site.

Any website that wants to attract new members needs to continually update their site design to be relevant for new members. Attractive older women are not going to be very pleased with what they see when they come to this site.

Warning sign #7 - Even their user base claims are pretty weak

When you first log onto the site you see the claim that "Free Cougar Contacts has thousands of members from all over the world including the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Ireland."

Sounds pretty good at first right?

Well once you consider that any popular site will have hundreds of thousands or millions of users just within the USA it doesn't sound quite as good. The value a site can provide to its members is directly related to how many users are actually on the site.

Do you really want to spend time on a site that MIGHT have a few thousand registered users across the whole world? Those are not very good odds even if you live in a large city.

Free Cougar Contacts Conclusion

Free Cougar Contacts is one of the more obvious fakes that we have seen. With high quality sites around like those on our Best Cougar Dating Sites list there is simply no reason for these sites to get any traffic. Sites like FreeCougarContacts.com exist only to send you to other sites. They have no interest in providing you with a platform to meet older women and are a waste of time.
