It all started with dodgy terms and conditions
I took the time to read through their terms and conditions displayed under the sign-up form. To my surprise, NoStringsFun admits to using computer-generated profiles to send you interest-based messages while sharing your data with other third-party players.
In short, NoStringsFun admits that they may pay people to act like they like you and use scripts to make you think you’re talking to someone. Thankfully, they did a terrible job, so you can see right through their scheme.
Spam messages upon registration
Despite being skeptical about NoStringsFun.com’s legitimacy after reading through their terms, I went ahead to set up my profile, and I kid you not, a member’s chat request came in at the same time my welcome message arrived.
Was she that desperate, or was I lucky?
It took close to five minutes for the second message to arrive, and three more followed suit after that. I’m confident these were computer-generated profiles, and I’ll prove this to you later on. Let’s keep digging.
Fake profile pictures
I did a reverse image search on google using some of the member profile pictures, and one by Livvie111, a woman from Columbus, US, caught my eye.
In the picture above, Livvie111 seems to be from the United States, but once I used TinEye.com to check for similar pictures as hers around the web, I was able to land on one interesting page where people post reviews on scammers who preyed on them in the past.
This time around, she seems to be coming from Australia and has allegedly scammed two people into giving her money. By digging a little deeper, the scammer’s location has now shifted from Australia to Nigeria, according to this report.
While I could go on and on looking for these images around the web and where else they were used, this goes to show you that the women on NoStringsFun aren’t who you think they are, as the site is business as usual.
I couldn’t do much with my free account
The site’s main agenda is to convince you to upgrade your account since not much can be done with the free account. I received message requests from other members of the platform but could not reply to them without upgrading.
What surprised me further was the inability to upload my profile picture while in the free account. I tried uploading the same pictures over and over, but they kept rejecting them with claims that I should use a real person’s image and not a photo of cars and buildings.
I gave it a final try after upgrading my account to the premium membership, and guess what? The two pictures I’d been trying to upload before uploaded to my profile with no issues. Were they trying to make me upgrade just to be able to upload my photos? My guess is yes.
Are there benefits of using a premium account?
Apart from finding out that I needed to upgrade my account to upload pictures and send messages, there’s absolutely nothing special about using the site’s premium feature. It’s as useless as free membership, and you’ll be fortunate if anybody replies to your messages.
I mean, the only reply I got after sending over 50 messages to women in my area and upgrading was a member giving me their email address so that we can talk outside the platform. Sounds fishy, right?
What was the motive here? Are they collecting emails for spamming? Before upgrading the account, women seemed to be interested in me; I received more than five messages upon signing up.
To me, this is a trick executed to lure people into upgrading their accounts to be able to reply to these fake messages. In my honest opinion, this site is sketchy. Just stay away from it and talk to real people on AFF without ever worrying that you’ll be speaking to a scripted computer program.
You’re much better off with AFF
While I was on NoStringsFun, I was able to have a real conversation with exactly 0 women.
